CRAZY DAY IN GRAFTON.

August saw CRAZY DAY in GRAFTON. It was pretty crazy for us. The STARWAGON blew its radiator and I lost my car and house key but it was also very good fun. We started in SHOPPINGWORLD, the splendid new shopping centre they built for us before we came to live here on Clarence and headed down into the main street, which I think is Prince or Duke. That’s where we found the Line Dancers.

Before going in to the CRAZY DAY, I decided to clean up the CHARADE which hadn’t been cleaned since before the FLOODS, including the mud raising Bellingen/Brierfield visit. I lashed out on the $13 automatic, wash, tri-colour rinse and wax and was one excited woman. When we emerged En Charade, what a letdown ! Waxed dirt is about all. I don’t even begrudge the $13 but I surely do resent the dirty car and dashed hopes. I recommend washing your vehicle at home, using the Hand Wash at the Car Wash or getting a genius like Michael from Murwillumbah to do it.

Meanwhile, back in town, the dancers were dancing and people chatted on the footpaths.
We had encountered Robbie whom we had met at the EMPORIUM MUSIC CAFE.  He was dressed as a clown and singing as he tugged along a small amp on wheels.

The street was lined with buskers. We saw the KING BROS and this country gentleman. Shops were selling stock at crazy prices and mad costumes abounded.

The charity of the month at The June MUSIC CAFE at the EMPORIUM in SOUTH GRAFTON was THE GRAFTON LIONS CLUB. The admission as usual, was $3 and the raffle which was won by nellibell49 herself was a slow cooker.

Its a fine array of Musicians who come along to the MUSIC CAFE. They crossed genres and generations and provided 4 hours or more of fine winter’s night entertainment.

WENDY TURNED HER HAND TO NOT ONLY THE WAITRESSING WHICH IS PRETTY HECTIC ON MUSIC CAFE NIGHTS, BUT ALSO TO THE SIGNWRITING DIRECTING THE MUSOS TO IZZY FOREAL AS MC. WENDY WAS TRAPPED AT HOME IN THE FLOODS WITH HER KIDS AND IS GLAD OT BE  OUT AND ABOUT.

And an unknown harmonica player. Young Alex King killed them on Izzy’s Fender and Sam King powered into the drum kit.
